Vintage Inspiration Link Party

Welcome back to the Vintage Inspiration Link Party.  We're so happy to have you partying with us!  This is the place to share anything old, treasured, passed-down or tattered, but you can also share projects that were made to look old, including repurposed and upcycled creations.

When you link up here at Vintage Inspiration Party your links will be seen on all 4 blogs!!

This week it was my turn to pick the features from last week's party and it sure wasn't easy. Thank you all for sharing your creative ideas, fabulous projects, vintage finds, and for inspiring us every week!

My 1929 Charmer shared her amazing deck reveal.  It's such a cozy space and packed full of vintage charm and beautiful fall decor!

D.D.'s Cottage and Design gave this secretary/desk a makeover with homemade chalk paint.  I love this color with the contrasting white interior.

Itsy Bits and Pieces shared her cottage style guest room that she decorated with some gorgeous and very special treasures.  I love this gallery wall she created with vintage dog pictures.

This wreath made from a drop cloth and embroidery hoop is so clever.  Simply Country Life shares a great tutorial on how to make your own.

Lavender Dreams made this adorable bear out of a quilt that she's had all her life.  The quilt was tattered beyond repair and she finally got up the courage to bring it back to life.

Red Tin Inn created this wonderful hanging basket from an old galvanized feeder and chalkboard paint.  It's so versatile and it could be decorated for any season by simply changing out the Christmas decor and chalkboard greeting.

Before we get to the features from last week's VIP, I wanted to let everyone know that I've teamed up with some of the most creative and talented junkers out there to invite you a Salvage STYLE Party. Nine of us have created our own salvage style junk projects to share for this event, and we're hoping you can join us starting Sunday, October 5th 6:00PST to link up some of your best past and present salvaged junk.  More details to follow, so start thinking about what you'd like to bring to the party.

We all love hosting the Vintage Inspiration Party. It's such a good reminder of what a little creativity can do, and we love seeing all these new uses for otherwise discarded items.  The features this week were chosen by Marianne from Songbird. Let's see what she has to say about these awesome features that caught her eye.....

This week it was my turn to choose the features from last week's party.  Here's what really caught my eye:
Flower Patch Farmhouse gives us step by step instructions on how to create this wonderful Victorian garden bench.

My Thrift Store Addiction shared her steampunk inspired pumpkin patch.  I love the big pumpkin made from a roof turbine and a flower pot.

Lavender Dreams showed off part of her fabulous shell collection.  I love the printers tray that she used to display the collection on her coffee table.

Ivy and Elephants has some of the most gorgeous vintage collections.  This week she shared several of her silhouettes including these two small hand-painted beauties.

I love these sweet pumpkins made from drop cloths by Simply Country Life.  There's a great tutorial too.

You wouldn't believe the before picture of this gorgeous antique vanity shared by CD's Country Living.

The Junk I Found

Happy Friday!  I can't believe how fast this week has gone by.  I've been so busy getting ready for Mes Amis Vintage Antique Show and just finally came up for air yesterday.  I'm headed over to set up for the show this morning, so it's going to be another busy day.  I wish you were all close enough to attend, but just in case you are, Mes Amis will be held 6:00pm-9:00pm tonight and 9:00am-3:00pm on Saturday at the Placer County Fairgrounds in Roseville, Ca. More details about the show here.

I wanted to share the junk I bought out at Alameda Point almost two weeks ago.  Some of it is still waiting for a little TLC, and some I've tackled and have packed up ready to go to Mes Amis.  You can see pictures of the fabulous junk I encountered here.  I didn't buy that much considering the hundreds of booths I passed through, but at least I came home happy and didn't spend every dime in my wallet.  (Or every $20 bill in my wallet because nothing out there costs a dime).

Large brass numbers and drawer pulls/markers.  The little stencils will eventually become necklaces.

The sweet tattered French music book has writing all over it and the pages are falling out, but it has some wonderful graphics.  I'm still searching for a nice frame for the silhouette.  I did something with the frames that involves twine, a vintage portrait, and a clip on earring.

You must think I've lost my mind to buy something like this!!  I thought so too until I figured out what to do with part of it.  It's called an irrigation dam and it would be attached to a pipe buried in the ground.  The red handle could be pulled straight up to allow the water to flow through.

Now it's a chalkboard.  The challenging part will be to figure out what to do with the other half.

A couple of chippy metal and glass trivets and two clock faces.  The clock face on the right has a convex glass cover that opens and a tiny level under the 12.

One of the clock faces was a perfect fit on top of this little urn, and.....

a small cloche was a perfect fit on top of the clock face.  Just enough room inside for a baby pumpkin.

Not a whole lot of silverware this trip, but enough to make another batch of silverware handle necklaces.  The galvanized dust pan will hang on a wall and hold three tiny vintage bottles that are perfect for single blooms.

These beautiful vintage doorknobs weren't exactly a bargain, but I needed more to complete a few projects.

Coat/accessory racks on vintage molding.

A few more bits and pieces of mismatched and broken jewelry.  I'd say about 40% of this has been used in other creations so far.

Isn't this the sweetest little box?  It's made from a 6" section of an old wooden rain gutter with pieces of metal nailed to each end.  I glued on the bling just because it needed a little something to contrast with the chippy old wood.  I'll be adding old wooden rain gutters to my focus list now!

Last, but not least.....the only thing that wouldn't fit into my shopping cart.
The background for all these pictures has been brought to you by my new old door.  One door, two different colors and two completely different styles.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!

Vintage Inspiration Party

Welcome back to the Vintage Inspiration Party!  We’re glad you joined us!

We had an awesome party last week and picking features was no easy job. The features this week were chosen by Angie @ Knick of Time.  Your links will show up on all 4 blogs, so we can't wait to see what you have to share!
Let’s take a look at this week’s features!
Penny's Vintage Home repurposed an Antique Ladder as an art easel!

Beatrice Euphemie Vintage Cottage Style filled an old galvanized bucket with roses and added a label to the front for a beautiful display at her son's wedding rehearsal dinner.

Chick in the Styx turned a vintage strainer into the coolest lamp!

Girl in the Garage gave a French theme makeover with paint and decoupage to a vintage desk.

Thoughts from Alice demonstrates that even if you live in a rental, you can still create a beautiful space like her romantic chic bedroom.

DD's Cottage was running low on her milk paint, so she mixed together what was left in several packages and created this chippy beauty.
