Thank You for the Giveaway Goodies

Yeah!  I was so happy to be the lucky winner of Kathy's Give-Away #4 in her December of Give-Aways.

Each week in December Kathy at Kluless had a different giveaway that included a mystery novel and other vintage goodies from her collection of treasures.
Do Or Die.  I'm looking forward to a good whodunit mystery.

A box full of vintage book plates, and a bookmark made from the spine of an old book.

A handmade folder full of vintage book pages.  I'll have fun with these!

Do you remember Gregg Shorthand?  It's a mystery to me now, but there was a time when I could actually read it.  The reverse side of the bookmark is just as fun, and the glass beads will no doubt end up in some of my jewelry creations.

Thank you Kathy!!

I'm grateful for all my blogging buddies, and will be sharing my goodies with Linda at
A La Carte for her very first Gratitude Sunday party.

  1. Congratulations on winning!
I do remember Gregg shorthand - use to write and read it, but has been so many years since I used it I doubt I remember much of it now.
    Enjoy your Sunday.

  2. What a fun gift to receive at this time of year. Cold/rainy days make for good 'creating' days.

    Have fun!

  3. Congratulations. That's a great haul. Love all the old pages. Lots of possibilities there. I remember taking shorthand in school as part of my business classes but don't think I ever had to use it once I did get an office job. I think I'll practice some and see if I can remember any of it. Ha!

  5. Congrats! Nice way to start off the new year. I've heard of Gregg Shorthand but they stopped teaching it before my time. I do use steno notebooks every now and again, though!

  13. Betsy, I am so glad you liked everything and I thank you for the shout-out. I was shopping at the thrift with my DIL one day and she walked over to me with a shorthand book and exclaimed about what an interesting language it was - LOL! I explained it was like the "texting" lingo of the time.

  14. Congratulations on this fabulous stash! Yes, I learned Gregg shorthand long ago, just after college when I attended the Katharine Gibbs School entree program. I can still write it -- but I couldn't begin to read much of it. Thank God for Siri, who takes my steno now!

  15. What great gifts! I love that bookmark, and I took Gregg shorthand in high school! I still use some of it if I'm having to take notes in a hurry, but mostly the short forms of words. Anymore, I'm way faster just typing on my desktop keyboard!
