I wasn't planning on going to any yard sales this weekend because it was just too darn hot, but temptation got the best of of me. I was only out for about 30 minutes, just long enough to stop at two sales and buy a few things that really caught my eye.

A plant is just what this lard bucket needs. I already flattened and stamped the silverware; now they're just waiting for a good polish.

Baby shoes are always on my wish list along with wire baskets.
I'm proud of myself for only buying what I could carry in one big arm load. I'm not sure how much longer I would have lasted because I'm a much happier shopper when I'm not melting.

Ahh. Baby shoes have to be one of the sweetest things ever made! I remember using the white shoe polish on them before every outing.
My sweet neighbor in Indiana told me one day that she had just thrown out her mother's baby shoes (90 year old shoes)!!! I begged her to let me have them but she said that I wouldn't want them... I almost snuck out to her trash can that night to rescue them but was afraid I would get caught. I should have, it would have been worth it! *sigh*

At least you can find a yard sale to go to. Around here the heat keeps every one from having one. (or good ones, any way) I too, am curious about the silverware and what you will do with it. And absolutely a plant in the Lard can!
