Fun with Hardware, Rust, and Rhinestones

Playing in my stash of rusty old hardware, tools, wood pieces, lamp parts, and things I can't even identify is always so much fun.  I love it when I'm not having a major creative block and can actually make something with some of the stuff I spill out all over my workbench.  My mission was to put together something new old and different to hold my business cards.

I knew this old cement edger would do the job, and the stray piece of door hardware was needed to hold the cards in place.

Mission accomplished!

I used E6000 glue to attach the chippy piece of door hardware to the cement edger.
It was the perfect size for business cards.

Why stop at one card holder?

Half of the small hinge is glued on, and the other half can move back and forth to hold the cards or picture in place.  Of course it needed a rhinestone.

These two are also pretty nifty for holding a stack of business cards in place.  I think I'll use one of these for extra cards and the other one as a sign holder...maybe a mini chalkboard.

  40. I used the same type of latch piece for a business card holder for the woman who owns the shop I'm in. Ha! Great minds think alike! Except mine was longer and went on wood so I could just screw it in. Love your tart cup necklace too, so fun!
    Susanne.
