Don't you love it when you hit a good yard sale? I had so much to do this weekend and almost didn't go out treasure hunting. Do you ever look at the yard sale ads on Craigslist or in the newspaper almost hoping you DON'T see something interesting? If there's a buzz word that catches my eye, I have to go.
It was an "old and interesting" kind of day. Those two framed prints caught my eye right away. I still need to open up the backs to find all the money that's hiding inside.
Unlike most of the old cameras I buy, this one won't be repurposed into jewelry. It's still in great condition and will probably find a comfortable spot in my house. The old 6" Diamond paper cutter still slices right through a piece of paper.
I thought this hydrometer with its original wooden case was so interesting. I was told this one was used for measuring the density of milk. Just what every household needs.
Earthly Footsteps of the Man of Galilee. I love old books and couldn't pass this one up. It has some condition issues, but most of the 400 photographs are still in good shape.
James Lee (left) is the author and Robert Bain (right) is the photographer. The book was originally published in 1894 and has over 400 photographs of their journey through the Holy Land.
I had to have this little booklet.
Dr. Pierce's magic potion will cure everything....
It will cure our backaches...
It will help us because we're so overworked. Darn, no alcohol?
It will help with our nervous disorders...
At least he acknowledged that men have their share of problems too.

Oh, I have a favor to ask. Would you change my address in your blogroll on your sidebar to mybluecreekhome.com
The old links are taking everybody to my old place where someone else has taken up residence!!
Thanks so much.
Rhonda
Those ads are a hoot! :-D I have a feeling a glass or 2 of wine would help more than the "meds" they advertise. :-D
I was out and about yesterday and saw a lot of signs, but did not stop. It was just to HOT!
Great treasures! I love old books and know that these would have come home with me, too.
WOW, you really scored. I have been on the lookout for a camera like that! Lucky you!!!

I think your finds are ALL wonderful, Betsy - as always! The "Earthly Footsteps of the Man of Galilee looks fascinating. I would love to browse through that beauty.
And Dr. Pierce's booklet is just too funny! Did you notice that his "ANSWER" to the "Question - Addressed to Women" sounded a lot like a politician's answer. He used a lot of verbiage...but gave no REAL answer. lol

My goodness, you find the neatest things. I can remember when I was a little girl, that we had a Polaroid camera like that; it folded flat into it's long black metal case. Haven't seen one like it, in years. Blessings.

THANK YOU!

ILTZZZZ
I LOVE that camera! It'll look great somewhere in your house, would love to see a picture when you get it situated. And next time I feel poorly, can I contact you to look it up in your book so I can order a tonic from you? :-) You did great at the yard sale, you never know what you're going to find - the treasure hunt! Thanks for sharing.
Hugs,
Mary
Maybe they'll be some $ behind those picture frames...do tell us if you find any :)
Loved seeing your finds...
Big hugs,
Queenie
Now, aren't you glad you got out? Those were such fun finds! And yes, I'll admit I'm more often than not relieved when the sales don't look worth my time (or lack of sleep time) to go to. I'm not a morning person.
Help with Nervous Disorders is always welcomed... I can think of a few people I'd like to, un, De-Nervous right now! Love your finds!
Older treasures like those are hard to come by at yard sales. And finding things like that just keeps feeding the addiction.
I also love old books but that camera, oh be still my heart...so fabulous!
hugs,
Linda
