Good Luck Girly Finds

The four leaf clover that was tucked inside the suitcase I bought last weekend brought me good luck all morning long.  We all know that some treasure hunting days are better than others, and this was definitely my lucky day.  Look what was greeting me as soon as I drove up to yard sale number three...

My new BFF.  I fell in love instantly despite her skin condition and the minor surgery I had to perform under one arm.  She came complete with this
 collapsible stand.

I think she was born sometime in the 60's.  These Adjust-O-Matic dress forms came unassembled through the mail.

Her brads have done a fine job holding her together over the years.
  No back problems.

Was that a yo-yo quilt sitting on the table next to my new friend?  I thought it was unfinished when I first picked it up, but then realized it was a skirt.

The lady told me that her mother made it for her in the early 60's and she would wear it with a slip/lining underneath.  I would hope so!

It's just a wee bit too small (23" waist) for my friend here, but I did manage to squeeze it over her head.

These were finds from another couple of sales that same day.

This is such a sweet little purse with its built in coin holder.  I already removed the crushed flowers on top and replaced them with a couple of buttons.

I had to have this rose covered shelf edging....all 18' of it.

Several pieces of lace and trim.

Some more bling and watches for repurposing.  Those shoe clips are my favorites.

I've been looking for one of these fabric covered hat molds, but they're usually so expensive.  When I saw this one, I wasn't going to let a few water stains keep me from bringing it home.

I think it will make a good jewelry display for now.

This pretty hand painted tray measures 19" x 27".  It has a couple of scratches and a few little dings, but the painting is in really good condition.

I'm linking up my girly finds with these parties:
Her Library Adventures for Flea Market Finds,
Southern Hospitality for Today's Thrifty Treasures,
Type A for Anything Goes Party, and
Charm Bracelet Diva for Club G.W.

  5. I would have run up the driveway at the yard sale and *huggged* that mannequin if I saw it. Quite the score! I may need to borrow your 4-leaf clover as I came home with absolutely nothing this weekend. So it goes :-) Always happy to know someone else is having some luck out there and it looks like you had a lot!

  8. Betsy thanks for stopping by my Post. I'm loving your fantastic 'Scores'! Especially the Dress Form and Hat Form. A lot of work goes into those Yo-Yo pieces, I especially like Yo-Yo Quilts but they've had a surge in popularity so are hard to come by now at a decent price.

  10. I love the rose embellished shelf edging too - what amazing vintage finds! I hardly ever go to yard sales because all I've ever found (on my few ventures out in the past) have been smelly old sneakers and junky cardboard furniture. I'm exaggerating, but you get the picture. You seem to know where to go to find absolutely the most interesting treasures! Love the hatform too - will look great decorated with the gorgeous pieces you make. take care xoxo Diane. px - do you go to the round top antiques market in TX? I always try to go and already have a list of things I'm going to be hunting for this fall...would be great to have the chance to meet and say hi if we're both there :)

  23. Hello Betsy! I love the way, the words, you used to describe your BFF. :) The yo-yo skirt was a killer and I would admire someone who could wear that with 23 inch waist line!

Another set of crafts and fab finds... you never fail to amaze me.

  25. Wow, you have had some great luck at the sales! That skirt is a hoot, so groovy! I've not had so much luck here lately. Hoping to change that when I head north to visit family in the mid-west for most of August.
Hope your lucky clover keeps working it's charm.
    Susanne.

  26. I have to tell you my 4 leaf clover story. On Saturday, we were at a cemetery in Minnesota for my father-in-laws memorial service. My husband has not done this for a long time because we have not lived near the right kind of clover. But he will be walking along, bend down and pick something and then hand it to me. You guessed it, he has a knack for finding 4 leaf clovers this way. My luckiness happened in so many wonderful ways throughout the next to days. Wonderful interactions with friends and family and safe travel back home to the Southwest.

  27. Oh, I've looked and looked for a dress form for sooo long. When I do find them, they are priced WAY too high for me. I just found my very first four-leaf clover here at the cottage a few weeks ago. And mine hasn't brought me a dress form yet! lol

  29. Oowheeee!!!!!

    LOVE your new BFF!

I think all the good yard sales have packed up and moved west.

They have pretty much stunk around here lately.

Although things did pick up enough this past Friday to keep me happy for a little bit longer......
