I did manage to find a few more yardsticks, some chain for necklaces, rusty sconces with a yummy shade of green, 2 vintage hanging racks, a framed print, and the money bag.
I thought about transforming this money bag into a purse......hmm, maybe not such a good idea unless you're asking to be mugged. I think a pillow would be a much safer alternative.
I didn't have to spend much time cleaning up my yard sale finds, so.....time to move on to my yardstick repurposing project. I've accumulated enough of these to finally put some more hanging racks together.
I always have my radar on for these. A few times I've had to cut them so
they'd be short enough to fit into my suitcase.
You can never have too many rusty and chippy hooks.
Just put the yardsticks and hooks together........
I used to make dozens of these. I've recently had people asking for
them again, so I made 4 long boards and 3 singles.
The guys love'm.
Just too much fun for the garage.

What a great idea for recycling those old yardsticks! I love them! I'm definitely going to have to keep an eye out for some at garage sales now!
Saw you at Metamorphosis Monday!
Following you on Met Monday and following your blog now too! I love your finds! I only got to hit two garage sales this weekend and I came home empty-handed. =(

Hi Betsy, I'm happy to see you're having fun shopping the great outdoors!I love what you did with the yard sticks, very creative!
My hubby and I were doing some major cleaning this weekend but we were able to hit a few garage sales Sat morning. We found a couple of great furniture pieces that I'll probably be blogging about soon.
Big hug!
Love those yard stick hooks. I might have to make some of those for myself.

Oh. My. CuteNESS! I love these. I see I'm going to have to start keeping my eye out for some. What a great idea. Although, if I just dig around my house, I could probably find a gazillion school rulers....nah, not the same.

I LOVE your vintage yardstick transformations, Betsy! I have a stash, too. But I can't seem to bring myself to the place where I can cut them up. I haven't been able to rip bindings off books for THAT cool trend either. I think my upbringing is interfering with my creativity! lol
